Introduction to Bioliminal Photography

Bioliminal photography* is the brain child of an American engineer called Patrick Richards and, as is the case with many inventions, its development was quite accidental. Patrick originally created an instrument (a Luminator) in order to balance air temperatures for more efficient heat energy management.  However, when testing his technology in various offices he discovered that his machine (which incidentally looks rather like a large stereo speaker) not only created a more uniform temperature gradient but also that the workers started to report improvements in their health. It appeared to alter the magnetic field of the environment and also sensitive light meters indicated an increase in light emissions in the working area. Patrick then made further explorations using photography in the field. Photographs when taken in this altered field often produced anomalous images of the subjects – either fuzzy or with multiple images. After years of research, Patrick concluded that people suffering from health challenges usually produced fuzzy or distorted images when photographed while healthy individuals produced clear and “normal” photographs. A further development revealed that when subjects held a correct remedy or appropriate medicine for their condition were photographed within the field, totally clear images were obtained. Patrick went on to develop his own range of subtle medicines which he called Chelates and he set up his own clinic using the technology to treat a wide range of disorders often untreatable by orthodox means.

* Bioliminal: Patrick Richards coined this term. Coming from the Greek – bios (life) and limen (the limit below which a stimulus is not perceived) to indicate the nature of this phenomenon.

Bioliminal Photography and Homeopathy

In 1998 the homeopath, Charles Wansbrough, met Patrick Richards at a science conference. He saw immediately the potential for such a technology within a homeopathic practice. Finding the correct remedy (the simillimum) in homeopathy can often be a very difficult and demanding process as the homeopath has to scan literally thousands of potential remedies. More often than not the remedy given lies in the realm of a “guestimation” until the patient returns for a follow up appointment to report on whether the remedy has worked or not. The luminator appeared to offer a means by which instant feedback could be obtained on the potential efficacy of homeopathic remedies. Charles was joined subsequently by another homeopath, Kieran Linnane, in order to create a homeopathic clinic where they could research the possibilities of such a technology.

Advantages of using Bioliminal Photography with Homeopathy

After four years of using the technology in our homeopathic practice we have been very encouraged by the improvement in results obtained. The following are the advantages we perceive to be a direct result of the use of the technology:

Greater Efficacy and Efficiency

Because of its ability to instantly feedback to us about the potential of any given remedy, we are now able to give more precise and accurate remedies to our patients. We are no longer in the area of “guestimation” when giving a remedy but can confidently assure our patients of the success of our prescriptions. At a homeopathic appointment we are able to “test” up to 12 remedies which in a normal homeopathic practice would comprise one year of treatment!

Precision Homeopathy

The technology allows us to test less well-known or newly proved remedies on our patients. A   homeopath operating without the technology will often not wish to take the risk of giving newer remedies to patients and will often use only a limited amount of remedies in his or her practice. In our practice we have expanded our number of potential remedies and are able to give more unusual remedies which are often more accurate and individualised to our patients. We have found that the technology obliges us to prescribe much more accurately and precisely as we can only give remedies which produce clear photographs when tested.

Significant reduction of treatment time

Because we are able to be more precise and accurate in our prescriptions, many patients require only two or three visits. This is in stark contrast to normal homeopathic practices where patients may have to return to the clinic month after month to achieve the same results.

Greater transparency

Normally the patient has to rely on the integrity of the practitioner to find the best remedy. In our clinic the individual receiving treatment is able to assess himself the accuracy of the prescription through the ensuing photograph, thus participating more fully in the clinical process. The technology obliges us to be completely transparent as practitioners.

Other therapies available at the Clinic

 ·        Homeo-sonics

Certain conditions (such as chronic ME and MS) are notoriously difficult to treat using homeopathy. Often more radical treatment is required to make any inroads into the illness. In such cases we tend to turn to sound therapy using Bioliminal Photography to guide our selection of the particular sound signature. A sound signature is found for the patient and this is given on a “tone box” – a small device about the size of a small mobile phone – which the patient can carry around with them. We are at the beginnings of our research in this area but results so far have been very  encouraging.

·        Hypnotherapy

Sometimes it is necessary for individuals to undertake more detailed work at a sub-conscious level in order to throw light upon difficult areas of the psyche.  We are therefore pleased to announce the addition to our team of a highly experienced hypnotherapist – Shaun Hammond.  This is the first time that a hypnotherapist has worked within the “Bioliminal field” and Shaun acknowledges that there is a marked difference in his work. Clients are able to access trance states much more rapidly and with greater ease in the field, thus making the process more effective and time efficient.
